The Fundamental Principles of Safe Gun Handling
ALWAYS keep the firearm pointed in a safe direction.
This is the primary rule of gun safety. A safe direction means that the firearm is pointed so that even if it were to go off, it would not cause injury or damage. The key to this rule is to control where the muzzle or front end of the barrel is pointed at all times.
ALWAYS keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.
When holding a firearm, place your finger on the trigger guard or along the side of the firearm. Do not touch the trigger, until you are actually ready to shoot.
ALWAYS keep the firearm unloaded until ready to use.
Whenever you pick up a firearm, immediately engage the safety device if possible, and, if the gun has a magazine inserted, remove it before opening the action and looking into the chamber(s) which should be clear of ammunition. If you do not know how to open the action or inspect the chamber(s), do not attempt to do this alone and seek assistance from someone who does.
Know your target and what is beyond it.
Be absolutely sure you have identified your target beyond any doubt. Equally important, be aware of the area beyond your target. This means observing your area of fire before you shoot. Never fire in a direction where there are people or any other potential for mishap. Think first! Shoot second!

The Annual Subscription dues becomes payable on January 1st of every year and we remind you of the Association's Rules of 10(a) " The Association's year shall coincide with the calendar year and all subscriptions shall become due on the first of January. Any member who has failed to pay his subscription by the 31st March shall cease to be a Member of the Association and the Honorary Secretary shall notify the Commissioner of Police accordingly. A member who has been so struck off may be reinstated by the Committee on payment of the entrance fee and annual subscription, providing all outstanding arrears are paid."
Payments can be made via cheque to TRINIDAD RIFLE ASSOCIATION or in cash at the Association’s office located on #63 Rosalino Street, Woodbrook (opposite to FINE ART FRAMING GALLERY). Payments can also be made while on the range to any one of your Vice Captains or mailed (cheques only) to P.O. BOX 451, PORT OF SPAIN. You must present a passport size photo of yourself or your previous Membership ID Card so you can be issued a new card.
Proper Range Attire
It is important that you dress appropriately if you intend to engage in Range Activities. A proper T-shirt, trousers and footwear (sneakers) is mandatory. Eye and ear protection is also mandatory, a cap is optional. Ladies are advised not to wear a low cut blouse, tees or shorts. The range is an outdoor facility and as such we advise that you wear insect repellent.
